Nedmag successfully tests first industrial hydrogen trial

Major steps forward in the sustainability of the East Groningen Industry Cluster. Cluster member Nedmag BV has successfully piloted hydrogen as a natural gas substitute on an industrial scale at its production site.

industrial trial at the Tripscompagnie extraction site

At the Tripscompagnie extraction site, hydrogen has been successfully tested as a natural gas substitute for the first time on an industrial scale. During the trial, liquid magnesium salt was dried with hydrogen into flakes and crystals. Salt extraction company Nedmag has thus taken a major step toward making its production process more sustainable.

Our experts Catrinus Jepma and Jeffrey Paays have an initial exploration We've explored the hydrogen prospects for the East Groningen Industrial Cluster, explaining why this transition is important and what the associated costs will be. We're pleased to see that Nedmag has taken a major step toward hydrogen based on this preliminary study.

Recently, Catrinus Jepma and Jeffrey Paays were interviewed about this research by Missie H2 article.
