Communications and Event Manager Donna Reitsema
Donna has recently joined Reitsema gain communication- and marketingteam van New Energy Coalition as Communication- and eSales manager With a background in communication and experience in event organizing, she brings a great combination of creativity, organizational skills, and the ability to connect people. In this interview, Donna introduces herself and talks about her first impressions, her motivation, and what she is most looking forward to.
Donna has been working in the communications field for three years now. In her previous role, she was also involved in both communications and event organization.
“My name is Donna Reitsema and I recently started as Communications and Event Manager at New Energy Coalition. In my previous position, I gained extensive experience in organizing events and providing communications advice. I bring that knowledge and experience with me into this new role.”
A versatile role within New Energy Coalition
As a communications and event manager, Donna has a broad range of responsibilities. She is responsible for the organization and coordination of various events, from small-scale gatherings to larger networking and knowledge events.
In addition, she maintains contact with our community members and supports internal and external communication regarding events, projects, and social media.
The great thing about this position is the variety. In addition to events, I am also involved in communication and project support. That makes it a versatile role in which I can learn and discover a lot.
A social contribution
What appealed to Donna about the role was not only the combination of events, community, and communication, but also the societal impact of the work.
Connecting organizations, people, and ideas appeals to me enormously. The energy transition is a subject about which I still want to learn a great deal, but whose societal importance I immediately see. Ultimately, it is about our own future.
That societal relevance played an important role in her choice for New Energy Coalition.
This position truly gives meaning to my work. I am proud that I can contribute to the energy transition from my role.
A warm welcome
Although Donna has only been part of the organization for three weeks, she already feels completely at home: “My first impressions are incredibly positive. Many different parties come together here, but at the same time, there is an open and approachable atmosphere. I have been warmly welcomed by my colleagues and have already met many people in a short time.”
It is precisely that collaboration between different organizations and professionals that she finds inspiring.
What positively surprised me is how strongly everyone works together towards the same goal. Despite all the different backgrounds and strengths, you really notice that there is a shared mission.
Looking forward to dynamic events
If there is one part of her new role that Donna is particularly enthusiastic about, it is the events.. I draw my energy from the dynamics of events, where no day is the same. I am really looking forward to putting on great events together. bringing people together and new collaborations stimulate.”
