The event on hydrogen and offshore energy in the Northern Netherlands.
Wind meets Gas annually brings together more than 500 international professionals from the energy industry, government and academia to discuss the latest developments and share knowledge on hydrogen and offshore energy. You will also have the chance to create new business opportunities during one-to-one matchmaking sessions with the other participants and at an exclusive networking dinner. On Friday, we invite the younger generation to join the discussion.

Securing economy and energy in the North Sea region
The 9th edition of Wind meets Gas will focus on the trilemma of how to combine the goals of greening energy with keeping energy affordable and secure.
Energy affordability is increasingly an issue, as not only energy prices themselves are rising again, but also related costs due to taxes, CO2 costs and grid-related charges. Therefore, concerns about the overall cost of energy are not only increasingly leading the public to worry about their energy bills. But industries, especially the energy-intensive part of them, are also concerned about their international competitiveness and their ability to make financially sound investments. At the same time, investment in renewable energy capacity itself also seems to be slowing down. How do we deal with all this?
Security of supply and demand has become an even greater concern. International geopolitical and trade policy turmoil has led to a less predictable international policy environment with as yet unclear implications for the international energy transition process and its timing. But not only have concerns about the economics of energy security increased, so have concerns about the potential for physical disruption of energy systems. Defending energy security therefore receives much more attention today than a few years ago.
While affordability and safety are gaining political momentum, greening and climate seem to have a less prominent place on various political agendas.
Where do North West Europe and the North Sea regions in particular stand in this trilemma? Can they face these challenges together and try to reconcile their goals for green energy while keeping it affordable and secure? This question is the focus of the symposium.
