Groningen presents Hydrogen Experience Center at Eurosonic Noorderslag
Several parties have literally seized the stage offered by Eurosonic Noorderslag Groningen this year to promote Groningen as a hydrogen region with numerous hydrogen initiatives. Against the background of the largest music festival in Europe with over 40,000 international visitors from all countries in Europe, Groningen presents itself as the hydrogen capital of Europe, ‘Groningen Hydrogen Capital’.
The Experience Centre is an exhibition where the public can learn about the various possibilities offered by hydrogen in an attractive way. In three specially equipped Domes directly opposite City Hall, visitors are informed about the role of hydrogen in the energy transition, concrete applications, opportunities and perspectives in the future, and concrete possibilities for education, work and business. This is done on the basis of the themes “what is hydrogen?”, “what are we doing with hydrogen now and in the future?”, and “what does hydrogen mean for you?”.
Hydrogen-fuelled buses and cars are already fairly well known. But meanwhile, there are already, for example, generators, trains and ships using hydrogen as fuel. The exhibition shows that there are already many uses in transport, industry and in one’s own home. It also focuses on the necessity of the energy transition, the various partnerships around hydrogen and the hydrogen education programmes at mbo, hbo and wo.
The Hydrogen Experience Center came about through a unique collaboration of Eurosonic Noorderslag, MissionH2, New Energy Coalition, EnTranCe, Gasunie, Enexis, RWE, Noorderpoort, Alfa-college, Ondernemersfonds Groningen and the municipality and province of Groningen.
The Hydrogen Experience Center will be open to the public and visitors of Eurosonic Noorderslag free of charge from Wednesday 18 January 16.00 until Saturday 21 January 2023 18.00.
