Groningen presents Hydrogen Experience Center at ESNS
This year, various parties have literally seized the opportunity offered by Eurosonic Noorderslag Groningen to promote Groningen as a hydrogen region with numerous hydrogen initiatives. Against the backdrop of Europe's largest music festival, attracting over 40.000 international visitors from across Europe, Groningen is presenting itself as the hydrogen capital of Europe, "Groningen Hydrogen Capital."
The Experience Center is an exhibition where the public can discover the diverse possibilities hydrogen offers in an engaging way. In three specially designed Domes, located directly opposite City Hall, visitors are informed about the energy carrier's role in the energy transition, specific applications, future opportunities and prospects, and concrete possibilities for education, employment, and business. This is done through the themes "What is hydrogen?", "What are we doing with hydrogen now and in the future?", and "What does hydrogen mean to you?"
Hydrogen-powered buses and cars are already fairly well-known. But now there are also generators, trains, and ships that use hydrogen as a fuel. The exhibition demonstrates the many potential applications in transportation, industry, and homes. It also highlights the need for the energy transition, the various partnerships surrounding hydrogen, and the hydrogen programs offered at vocational, higher professional, and university levels.
The Hydrogen Experience Center was created through a unique collaboration between Eurosonic Noorderslag, MissieH2, New Energy Coalition, EnTranCe, Gasunie, Enexis, RWE, Noorderpoort, Alfa-college, Ondernemersfonds Groningen, and the municipality and province of Groningen. The experience is free and open to the public and visitors of Eurosonic Noorderslag from Wednesday 18 january at 16.00 p.m. until Saturday 21 January 2023 at 18.00 p.m..
