Description
Islands act as testbeds for energy transition in IANOS. Innovative solutions will be tested for technical and economic feasibility while engaging the citizens and stakeholders of two pilot islands – Ameland (Netherlands) and Terceira (Portugal). The findings will be shared and applied to three ‘Fellow Islands’: Lampedusa (Italy), Nisyros (Greece) and, Bora Bora (French Polynesia), helping to establish a model for energy transition across European islands. This approach accelerates the transition towards energy independence and environmental resilience.
Our role
We manage the part of the project ‘Energy Cooperatives and Stakeholders Engagement’, do research for Ameland and support the communication of the project.
