TSO2020
Integration of green energy, hydrogen production and grid optimization in Noord-Nederland.
Goal
Demonstration of large-scale conversion of renewable electricity to hydrogen, storage, and use in regional networks and mobility, to support CO₂ reduction targets and grid balance.
Description
TSO2020 demonstrated how electricity conversion to hydrogen and storage solutions can solve local congestion problems. By linking supply and demand, including the reuse of existing gas networks, it contributes to flexibility, CO2 reduction, and system integration.
Our role
New Energy Coalition was the project coordinator and responsible for project management, communication, and international knowledge exchange. NEC brought stakeholders together and supported demonstrations in Delfzijl and the surrounding area, focusing on hydrogen generation and infrastructure.
Partners
Next to New Energy Coalition names Gasunie, TenneT, Groningen Seaports, AkzoNobel (now Nobian), Hanze University of Applied Sciences Groningen, DNV, Green Planet, TU Delft, Stedin and the Province of Groningen.
