ZepHYros
Zero emission in the Port of den Helder using hydrogen for transport over road and the Wadden Sea.
Goal
Currently, there is no (green) hydrogen infrastructure in the Dutch Wadden Sea ports. Zephyros stimulates the development of a hydrogen infrastructure and the use of green hydrogen in the maritime sector.

Description
Zephyros aims to demonstrate the technical operation of the green hydrogen chain in the maritime sector. From the generation of green power to its application in vessels; from ‘well-to-propeller’. In doing so, the project aims to prove that it is commercially feasible to sail on green hydrogen. Port of Den Helder serves as the base of operations. Finally, the project pursues three goals that accelerate the energy transition: Reduction of emissions, innovation and knowledge development and a sustainable and fossil-free port operation.
Our role
New Energy Coalition contributes to the activation of the international hydrogen network and the development of hydrogen mobility in (Northern) Netherlands. The role of New Energy Coalition, within the project ZepHYros, is to disseminate the project results and connect stakeholders within the project.
Partners
In addition to New Energy Coaliton, the following partners are also collaborating on the ZepHyros project: Port of Den Helder (PODH), Damen Shipyards, Statkraft, TotalEnergies, H2 Marine Solutions, Programma Green Shipping Waddenzee (FME), InHolland, TU Delft and Bureau Veritas.
